Youth Group Meeting/News

Youth Group
This group works, prays and plays together!

Youth Group is always open to all youth in grades 7-12.

Youth do not have to be parishioners at either Immaculate Conception or St. John the Apostle in order to participate.  Youth do not even have to be practicing Catholics or enrolled in the Parish School of Religion program at Immaculate Conception or any other Catholic church.  Everyone is always welcome.  Come when you can to whatever events you choose to come to.

Basic registration and media release forms will be provided to all youth who participate and participant forms will be required for each off-campus event unless it is a public event to which parents are also present.
atch for emails from Brenda and Candi (if you do not currently receive emails, please contact us at the parish email, and we'll add you to our email list.  Please make sure to provide the email address of a parent or guardian along with the contact information for the youth.   The Archdiocese of St. Louis does not permit texting between Youth Ministers and youth and only group emails will be sent to youth.  The participation of parents in the communication process is highly encouraged and frankly, it is necessary.

Teens who are no longer attending High School and adults are welcome to participate as core team members.  Please speak with Youth Minister Brenda Carrow to learn more about the Archdiocese of St. Louis' Prevent and Protect program and it's requirements.

Recent Event
Three individuals just returned from the Steubenville STL Youth Conference in Springfield, Missouri (event held July 9-11, 2021). IT WAS AWESOME!
To learn more speak with this year's participants, Brenda Carrow (group leader), Constance Kennon (Chaperone) and Caity Kennon (teen participant) or visit the Steubenville links.

Youth Group Registration-You are invited to sign up ahead of time for Youth Group this year.  Registration forms will be provided at Parish School of Religion Registration times, so if you also plan to attend P.S.R. 2021-2022 you can get all of your forms at one time.  Registration will be available after Masses on August 7-8 and August 14-15.  If you are not able to get your forms at that time please contact Brenda Carrow for more information or to pick up a form or download and print the form found here by clicking on Youth Group Registration, found below as a subpage to this Youth Group page.

Family Mass-
The Annual Family Mass marking the start of a new year of Parish School of Religion will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.  All are welcome to attend.  Parents and Guardians are encouraged to stay after Mass for the meeting with Deacon Michael Burch to learn more about the Safe Touch policies and COVID-19 guidance for attendance at PSR and Youth Group.

Car Show-As you may already be aware, the Annual Spring Fling/Car Show was not held earlier this year (or in 2020).  But the Car Show is making a comeback!  Changing Gears and Changing Seasons!  The event is being slightly modified.  Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 11, 2021.  Car Show will be held on the parking lot of Immaculate Conception as usual.  The rummage sale is being moved outside under the pavilion.  And instead of the parish providing a pulled-pork dinner, we will be inviting a variety of local food trucks/vendors to set up along the driveway to provide snacks and meals for the day.  For more information visit the Car Show webpage on this site.

Youth Group Kick Off Pizza Party-Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.  Pizza party at the Immaculate Conception Pavilion.  Youth, grades 7-12 are invited to join us for pizza and a "meet and greet".  Hope to see you there!

Volunteers needed to help with the September 11th Car Show at Immaculate Conception.  7 a.m.-2 p.m.

DIY Lawn Games Continues!  Back before the pandemic hit, Youth Group had been discussing various lawn games that we could build and put together, and we have begun construction. Finished games will be available for Youth Group use and also provided to the parish for use at special events.  Youth are asked to look around their homes for items that can be re-purposed for use as part of a DIY game.  Please discuss with parents.  All ideas/suggestions welcome!
