Youth Group Meeting/News

Youth Group is open to students in grades 7-12.  This group works, prays and plays together.  Meetings follow the Wednesday evening P.S.R. class, 7:15-8:30 p.m.  Some activities are off-site and/or may be a different day and time.

October 25, 2017-Wednesday, 7:15 p.m.-Halloween Party/Movie Night

October 1, 2017 (Sunday)
    +Youth Group Greeters before 10:30 a.m. Mass
    +National Life Chain (Farmington) at 2:30-3:30 p.m.
      Meet at 2:15 pm..the Methodist Church parking lot
      to pick up sign.  Will stand as a group along
      Karsch Blvd.
    +VMY Mass-Youth Mass is at 6 p.m. at Ste. Genevieve
      Catholic Church.  Contact Ms Candi or Ms Brenda to
      arrange transportation or attend with your family
      (arrive 20 minutes early for special info about VMY)
      Hayride after the Mass

Knights of Columbus "Tootsie Roll Drive"

October 7, 2017 (Saturday)
    +Rosary Festival
      The Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary
      located on Richardson Rd outside of Bonne Terre
      Begins with a talk about Fatima at 10:30 a.m.
      Rosary at 11:15 a.m.
      Mass (Bishop Emeritas Robert Hermann-celebrant) at
      12 Noon
      Free Chili Dinner afterward

October 14, 2017 (Saturday)
    +Parkland Pregnancy Resource Center Walk for Life
      Meet at Columbia Park, Park Hills
      Registration at 9 a.m. Walk begins at 10 a.m.
    +Rosary Rally at Noon at St. James Potosi

October 18, 2017 (Wednesday)
I.C. Parish Bonfire at the pavilion
(Youth Group is expected to help with set up and food for this event)

October 25, 2017 (Wednesday)
Halloween Party/Movie Night
Bring favorite Halloween treats and dress as a favorite saint!  Movie:  The Goonies (1985, Rated PG)

October 29, 2017 (Sunday)
Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast after Mass
Show up to show your support and help out!

All Saints Day
(This is a Holy Day of Obligation!  Attend Mass!)
There is a Vigil Mass at St. John the Apostle, Bismarck
on Tuesday, October 31st at 7:30 p.m.  Masses at
Immaculate Conception are on Wednesday, November 1st at 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

A local Homeschooling group is meeting for an All Saints Day party in the parish hall at Immaculate at 10 a.m.  For more information please contact Lauren Stein.

No PSR or Youth Group tonight!

All Souls Day (Mass of the Dead)
There is a "Remembrance Mass at Immaculate Conception at 8 a.m., but this IS NOT a Holy Day of Obligation

Chicken & Dumplings Dinner/Bazaar at I.C.
All volunteers welcome and please come eat! Wear your Youth Group t-shirts!

November 23, 2017-Thursday
Thanksgiving Day
No public school today.  No PSR or Youth Group the evening before. There is a regular week day Mass at Immaculate Conception at 8 a.m. for those who wish to attend.

Service Activity
DIY Lawn Games!  Youth Group has been discussing various lawn games that we can build and put together, and we have begun construction. Finished games will be available for Youth Group use and also provided to the parish for use at special events.  Youth are asked to look around their homes for items that can be repurposed for use as part of a DIY game.  Please discuss with parents.  All ideas/suggestions welcome!

New Members Always Welcome!    Youth should be 7th-12th Graders.  No other requirements.

Immaculate Conception/St. John the Apostle parish cookbooks are available for purchase through the Youth Group at the reduced rate of $5 a book.
