Mission Cooperation

Cancelled!  Fr. Wiesmann's flight out of Ft. Lauderdale has been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions caused by Hurricane Irma.  Please pray for Fr. Wiesmann and his associates who are still in Florida and the Caribean.

Please welcome Fr. Gary F. Wiesmann, Director of Mission Awareness from the Diocese of Mandeville, Jamaica!

Fr. Wiesman will be our guest and celebrant at all of our Masses for the weekend of September 9-10, 2017.  We will get to hear about a different side of Jamaica that is not represented by the beautiful beaches seen in the travel ads.  The Diocese of Mandeville services about 600,000 people and 68% of them have no running water.  They face issues of poverty, illiteracy, and child abandonment.  People still die from diseases that don't even exist in the U.S.  In addition to trying to alleviate some of these problems, the diocese must regularly recover and make repairs from damage caused by tropical storms.  Your donation will be greatly appreciated.  For more information contact:

Fr. Wiesman's visit has been scheduled as part of the Mission Cooperation Plan which allows us to host a missionary priest so that our parishioners can learn about what goes on in other parts of the world.  A special collection will be offered so that donations for the Diocese of Mandeville may be provided.

(Please pray for Fr. Wiesmann's safe and timely arrival to Park Hills.  Hurricane Irma is creating quite a bit of uncertainty regarding Father's travel plans.)
